Finweb Business Consultancy is committed to maintaining the highest standards of honesty, fairness, and integrity in all academic and workplace-based learning activities. This policy outlines expectations for learners, facilitators, assessors, and moderators to ensure all assessments and evidence submissions are credible and trustworthy.
1. Purpose
- To uphold academic honesty and ethical conduct across all programmes.
- To protect the credibility of qualifications earned through Finweb Learner Portal.
- To comply with QCTO, INSETA, MICT SETA, and other accreditation body requirements.
2. Scope
This policy applies to:
- All learners enrolled in Finweb Learner Portal programmes (funded or non-funded).
- All assessments, including online submissions, PoE evidence, projects, and examinations (EISA).
- All facilitators, assessors, moderators, and staff involved in assessment and verification.
3. Principles of Academic Integrity
All learners must demonstrate:
- Honesty – present only their own original work.
- Fairness – follow assessment rules and respect others’ work.
- Responsibility – ensure evidence submitted is authentic, valid, current, and sufficient.
- Respect – acknowledge all sources and workplace contributions appropriately.
4. Academic Misconduct
The following behaviours are considered breaches of academic integrity:
4.1 Plagiarism
- Copying text, ideas, or data from another source without proper acknowledgment.
- Submitting someone else’s work (published or unpublished) as your own.
4.2 Cheating
- Using unauthorised materials or devices during assessments.
- Obtaining or sharing assessment answers dishonestly.
- Colluding with others to complete individual tasks.
4.3 Misrepresentation
- Falsifying evidence, records, or workplace documentation.
- Submitting work produced by someone else (e.g., ghost-writing).
- Misrepresenting qualifications, experience, or contributions.
5. Consequences of Misconduct
Any breach of this policy may result in:
- Assessment being declared invalid or “Not Yet Competent (NYC).”
- Requirement to resubmit or repeat assessments at own cost.
- Suspension or removal from the programme.
- Reporting to the relevant SETA/QCTO and possible disqualification from EISA.
- In cases of fraud, legal or disciplinary action.
6. Support for Learners
To encourage integrity and prevent misconduct, learners will receive:
- Guidance on referencing and acknowledging sources.
- Orientation on building a Portfolio of Evidence (PoE) ethically.
- Opportunities to correct mistakes before final submission, where appropriate.
7. Appeals
Learners may appeal misconduct decisions using the Appeals & Grievances Procedure, provided the appeal is submitted in writing within the specified timeframe.
8. Responsibilities
- Learners: Submit only original, authentic, and valid evidence.
- Assessors: Check for plagiarism, authenticity, and misrepresentation.
- Moderators: Verify fairness and integrity of assessment decisions.
- Finweb QA: Monitor compliance with accreditation and regulatory standards.
